Apple, AMD, Huawei and Qualcomm are TSMC's top customers for 7nm chips in 2019

7nm chip sales are expected to contribute more than 20% of revenue for TSMC from Q4 2018.

Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company (TSMC) recently revealed its revenue forecast for the rest of the year and 2019. It also revealed the major clients for its 7nm process technology.

For Q4 2018, TSMC expects 7nm chips to account for more than 20% of its total wafer revenues and nearly 10% for the entire year. Revenue is likely to exceed 20% in 2019 as it expands the 7nm process portfolio to include an improved version with EUV.

Industry sources claim that Apple, Huawei and Qualcomm will be TSMC's main phone chip clients for 7nm chips while AMD, NVIDIA, Xilinx and several other AI chip developers are major clients of the 7nm process. Qualcomm is expected to recruit TSMC to build its next generation Snapdragon 800 series mobile platforms next year while Apple's A13 chips are said to be exclusively built by TSMC.
