Apple, Amazon and Disney reportedly submitted bids for NFL Sunday Ticket
Apple, Amazon and Disney reportedly submitted bids for NFL's Sunday Ticket package.
CNBC reports that the three companies submitted their bids weeks ago and NFL is currently in discussion with the bidders. NFL is apparently looking at more than $2 billion for the streaming rights and a stake in NFL Media, which manages the NFL Network Channel, NFL.com and more. DirecTV, which has the existing rights, paid $1.5 billion for Sunday Ticket and it will expire after the 2022-23 season.
Getting the broadcast rights for NFL Sunday Ticket will be a huge boost to Apple TV+. Apple's video streaming service has an ongoing partnership with Major League Baseball for the 2022 season, and a 10-year agreement with Major League Soccer starting from 2023.
