Sleep tracking company Beddit announced on its privacy page that it has been acquired by Apple. In its statement, Beddit said that users' personal data will be collected, used and disclosed in accordance with the Apple Privacy Policy. Details of the acquisition are not known at the moment.

As Apple currently lacks a native app or feature to track sleep on the Apple Watch, it makes sense for the iPhone maker to acquire Beddit. The sleep tracking company not only has an app for the Apple Watch and iOS, it also sells sleep tracking hardware. Its latest hardware is the Beddit 3 Sleep Monitor, which retails for S$229 on Apple Online Store.

It remains to be seen how Apple will approach sleep tracking on its devices. Will it continue to sell Beddit sleep trackers? Or will Apple integrate Beddit's sleep tracking technologies with its products? Perhaps we will know more next month at Apple's Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) in San Jose.
