Apex Legends is finally adding more rewards and increasing its level cap

Apex Legends is overhauling its main progression system, increasing its level cap and throwing in a whole lot more Apex Packs for players to earn as they level up.

According to a new post on Electronic Arts’ website, the game will be introducing all these changes in a big update on December 3. This update will increase the game’s level cap all the way up to 500, and also comes with changes to how often players earn Apex Packs while levelling up.

Essentially - there are now a WHOLE LOT more Apex Packs to earn:

  • Level 2 - 20: One pack every level
  • Level 22 - 300: One pack every two levels
  • Level 305 - 500: One pack every five levels

New players will have a much better time playing the game and levelling up to 100 now, earning 59 Apex Packs instead of the 45 that players got with the old system. Fortunately, these changes are retroactive, meaning that returning players who have already hit that level 100 milestone will find 14 free Apex Packs in their accounts after the update.

Players will also get various level-themed weapon charms and badges as they make the climb to level 500 now - but that’s not all. Respawn is also adding a bunch of adorable looking gun charms to their Apex Packs, so you won’t just be getting banners all the time.

Considering EA is making Apex Legends their ‘main shooter’ of 2020, it makes sense that the game is making changes so players have more of a reason to stick around - besides the seasonal battle passes, that is. As someone who hit the level 100 cap ages ago, this is a very welcome change.
