AOC houses their gaming products under new brand called AGON

AOC's new AGON branding for professional gaming monitors - 10 new displays are slated for launch.

As Computex 2016 rolls around the corner, Taiwanese display makers, AOC, launches their new AGON gaming brand for their premium gaming monitors. Moving forward, all gaming products by AOC will fall under this new AGON branding.

To kick off their new brand, AOC will be releasing 10 new gaming monitors under the AGON name. A launch event will be held for the AG271QX, AG271QG, AG322FCX, G2460PFG, and 2460VQ6. So far, we’ve found specifications for their AG271QX gaming display – it’s a TN panel with QHD (2,560 x 1,440 pixels resolution), 144Hz refresh rate and 1ms response time. The display also supports Adaptive Sync Technology (such as AMD’s FreeSync).

According to AOC, the AGON monitors will feature display resolutions ranging from Full HD to 4K, with a variety of sizes between 24-inch with 16:9 display ratio, to 35-inch screens with ultra-wide (21:9) display ratio. Users can also expect to see curved monitors in the gaming brand as well. Features that will definitely be found on all AGON monitors include 1ms response time, 144Hz or higher refresh rates, height-adjustability, speakers, and USB 3.0 ports.

Agon is a Greek word that stands for “struggle” or “contest” in athletics, and AOC hopes that the competitive nature of E-sports will be reflected in their AGON professional gaming monitors.

AOC is a regular at the local electronic fairs, and you’d probably see their displays on display during this weekend’s PC Show. On that note, be sure to check out our PC Show 2016 preview article.
