Another smart device incoming: The Vessyl

The Vessyl also comes in a multitude of colors.

Despite it just looking like a fancy cup, the Vessyl is filled with sensors that can identify of any liquid you put inside it. In fact, there are even plans for the Vessyl to be able to detect contaminants in any liquid. Even with all the fancy tech behind it, the Vessyl can be treated like any cup. You can wash and clean it with no issues, and it even holds liquids at temperatures any normal cup can hold. Sounds too good to be true doesn't it? Watch the video below for proof.

Convinced yet? The Vessyl not only identifies what type of liquid is inside, it can even breakdown the ingredients being used and then display that information on the cup. If you want detailed stats though, the Vessyl has you covered too.

These are just mock ups of how the app will look so expect the real thing to be somewhat different but it should give you a general idea of what to expect.

When the Vessyl launches next year, it'll also be accompanied by a companion app on both Android and IOS. The app not only contains detail stats on your drink, but also tracks your drinking habit, allowing you to view a timeline of what you've been drinking and other details.

The Vessyl is a smart device, which means it requires power to run. Fortunately, it uses a standard USB Micro-B so as long as you have access to a cable and a USB port, you're set.

If you're interested in the Vessyl, pre-orders for it are already open. In fact, the first round of pre-orders have already sold out. Luckily, there's now a second round of pre-orders (it's first come first served so order fast if you want a Vessyl quick) open at the website, with orders set to ship early 2015. Once it goes into mass production, the Vessyl's expected to cost US$199 but if you pre-order, it's US$99.
