Sony seems to have a hard time keeping its new devices under wraps as another image of its ST25i Kumquat handset leaked a few days ago. It may also be renamed as Sony Ericsson Xperia U.

According to the latest image obtained by Xperia Blog, the Xperia U (also known as Kumquat) adopts a similar design as the recently launched Xperia S. It has a similar thin plastic band below the display which houses indicators for three touch sensitive controls. Other alleged specs include a 3.5-inch display, 1GHz dual-core processor and a 5-megapixel camera.

A leaked listing by Indonesia's Postel, the nation's telecommunications regulatory authority revealed that the Kumquat device may be launched as the Sony Ericsson Xperia U. However, it is possible that the Sony Ericsson branding will be replaced with a Sony tag given the acquisition and merger of Sony Ericsson by Sony Corporation.

The Sony Ericsson Xperia U (or Sony Xperia U) will probably be announced at next month's Mobile World Congress (MWC 2012) along with another device, codenamed the Xperia Nypon which was seen in leaked images last week. Other Sony branded devices listed on a leaked roadmap may also debut at MWC 2012.
