Android’s mobile security suite for small businesses expands to more markets

Android Enterprise Essentials.

Smaller businesses generally don’t require tons of resources to stay in the game, but their cybersecurity needs are no less important than those at big corporations. To that end, Android is expanding support for Android Enterprise Essentials to more countries.

Previously available only in the U.S. and the U.K. at its 2020 launch, Android Enterprise Essentials is now also available in Japan, France, and Germany, with “more countries coming soon”, according to Google via a blog post. There's no firm news on Singapore's availability, but one can hope.

In essence, the cybersecurity suite by Android itself does what it says on its sticker. It keeps your Android work phone as a purely work-only phone as it combines both management and security tools into one package. If a worker resets the Android gadget, Android Enterprise Essentials remains on-device. The suite makes it easy for smaller businesses to protect their employees from cyberattacks while offering remote deployment or wiping of device and software policies for work.

While prices vary from country to country, Android Enterprise Essentials start at US$2 per month per device. Finding its authorised resellers depends on where you’re at, though.
