Analyst claims MacBook Pro with OLED to launch in 2026
Apple might bring OLED to the MacBook Pro lineup in 2026.
Ross Young, CEO of Display Supply Chain Consultants, claims the MacBook Pro is unlikely to sport an OLED display until 2026 as display suppliers are focusing on bringing OLED to tablets. It would also take some time for suppliers to scale up their production capacity for notebook-optimised OLED panels. The estimated timeline is slightly different from analyst Ming-Chi Kuo; the analyst predicts the MacBook with OLED display to launch in end 2024.
Young also said that Apple is working on a 13.4-inch MacBook Air with OLED display. TheElec recently reported that Samsung Display is the exclusive supplier of OLED panel for the next MacBook Air. Earlier this year, TheElec revealed OLED screen sizes of 14.0-inches and 16.0-inches are being developed for the MacBook Pro.
