Back in August, users on Reddit discovered a firmware for the AirPods Pro that added support for a new feature called Conversation Boost.

Conversation Boost is a feature designed to help people with hearing issues by using the AirPods Pro's microphones to amplify the voice of people talking in front of the user.

The firmware version you want is 4A400. Unfortunately, like previous AirPods firmware updates, there's no way to force a firmware update. You just have to keep your AirPods Pro connected to your iPhone or iPad and hope that it automatically updates to the latest version.

To check your AirPods Pro firmware, go to Settings > General > About > AirPods and look at the firmware version.

And to turn on Conversation Boost, go to Settings > Accessibility > Audio/Visual. Afterwards, enable Headphone Accommodations, then head to Transparency Mode and turn on Conversation Boost.
