Advance is a Firefox extension that recommends sites based on your browsing habits
Firefox has a new experimental extension that offers real-time recommendations of websites based on what you are currently reading and your browsing history and habits.
Called Advance, it uses machine learning by a startup called Laserlike to offer recommendations.
After installing Advance, Firefox users will see two panels alongside their main browsing windows. They are "Read Next" and "For You."
"Read Next" offers recommendations based on what you are reading right now while "For You" gives you recommendations based on your recent browsing history.
To protect users' privacy, there are controls built into the extension to let users control what they want to share.
Advance was inspired by the idea of a 'forward button' that would make it easier for users to discover new content on the internet.
