Adobe's latest projects make AR and painting easier for all

Adobe has just announced the development of two new pieces of software for designers and artists of all disciplines - Project Gemini and Project Aero.

Project Gemini gives you a better drawing and painting experience than before

Another one of Adobe’s latest projects, Project Gemini is created to bring the best digital drawing and painting experience ever.

Created for illustrators, painters and drawers of all levels, Project Gemini is another app that’s coming for the iPad Pro. As you can see from the image below, the interface looks to be a fairly straight forward one. However, the software will come with selection and masking tools, grids and drawing guides, and the ability to draw in both raster and vector formats.

Project Gemini allows for a better drawing and painting experience.

The way the brushes react has also been tweaked to be more realistic in terms of response to your brush strokes. Watercolors and oils have also been added as Live brushes, and you can now blend with these and have the colors naturally bleed into each as they would in real life. Even the canvas plays a part now, so you can thin down the paint and let the underlying texture show through.

Everything is synced automatically via Creative Cloud so you can start something in Photoshop and continue it with Gemini and head back over after. With both raster and vector brushes available, Gemini lets you work the way you want. It will even automatically create a new layer if you change from raster to vector, so you won't get mixed up.

Project Gemini is now in closed pre-release on iOS only. More details will be released as the app nears release.

Project Aero lets you create AR experiences without needing to code

Built to simplify the process of creating Augmented Reality experiences, Project Aero is a cross device AR authoring tool that features integration with Dimension and Photoshop. Still a work in progress, Aero is built so artists and create quality AR experiences without needing to code. It will also tap on Adobe Sensei to provide contextual awareness allowing your creations to better blend with their surroundings.

Project Aero is currently still in development at Adobe with a private beta, but wil eventually be opened up to more people towards the end of late 2019. Click here to sign up for periodic updates.
