Acer updates its Aspire notebook line-up with new 9th generation Core processors and NVIDIA graphics

Acer has just announced a thorough refresh of its Aspire line-up of notebooks at a special event held in New York earlier today.

The Aspire collection, if you don't already know, is Acer's line-up of affordable notebooks for mainstream everyday use. They favor performance and affordability over design and portability, making it great for users looking for a do-everything notebook.

First up is the Acer Aspire 7. This comes with a 15.6-inch Full-HD IPS display with narrow bezels. It will be powered by a mix of 8th generation and 9th generation Intel Core processors - the latter will come later. Demanding users can spec their machines with up to 16GB of DDR4 memory. Storage options are quite plentiful, you can have up to 1TB PCIe SSDs in RAID and up to 2TB HDD. It will also have discrete graphics in the form of NVIDIA's GeForce GTX series. Acer also wants to point out that the Aspire 7 will have a metal top and keyboard body.

The Acer Aspire 5 will be offered with either 14-inch or 15.6-inch IPS display. Both will support Full-HD resolution. They will be powered by 8th generation Core processors with NVIDIA's new GeForce MX250 discrete graphics, AMD's second-generation Ryzen processor with discrete Radeon RX 540 discrete graphics.

Finally, we have the Acer Aspire 3. The Aspire 3 will be offered in three screen sizes: 14-inch, 15.6-inch, and 17.3-inch. Regardless of which size you pick, it will support Full-HD resolution. Like the Aspire 5, the Aspire 3 will come in two main configurations. One with an 8th generation Intel Core processor with NVIDIA GeForce MX250 graphics, and another with a second generation AMD Ryzen processor with Radeon RX 540 graphics. The Aspire 3 can be spec'ed with up to 16GB of memory and maximum storage comes in the form a 512GB PCIe SSD with a 1TB HDD.

No word yet on local availability and pricing since the notebooks were just announced, but we will be sure to update this article once we have details.
