Acer has just unveiled a whole bunch of new notebooks and the undisputed highlight has to be the new Swift X 16 – a relatively portable 16-inch notebook with serious firepower.

Let's talk size and weight first. Despite being a 16-inch notebook with discrete graphics, Acer has kept the weight down to 1.9kg and the thickness to a very reasonable 17.9mm.

The display is a 16-inch OLED panel with a resolution of 3200 x 1200 pixels, a refresh rate of 120Hz, and a peak brightness rating of 500 nits. It also covers 100% of the DCI-P3 colour space and meets VESA's DisplayHDR TrueBlack 500 standards.

Inside, you'll find AMD's latest Ryzen 7000 series processors and NVIDIA's newest GeForce RTX 40 series graphics.

In its most powerful form, the Swift X 16 can be equipped with a Ryzen 9 7940H processor and an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4050 GPU. Maximum memory is 16GB LPDDR5 and maximum storage is a 2TB PCIe 4.0 SSD.

As for connectivity, you have two USB-C ports, two USB-A ports, and a full-size HDMI 2.1 port. Acer didn't disclose what standards the USB ports support.
