Acer is continuing to experiment with outlandish designs on its gaming laptops. After all, this is the same company that gave us the Predator 21 X, a gargantuan laptop with a 21-inch curved screen. At IFA 2018 in Berlin, Acer revealed the Predator Triton 900, a 2-in-1 convertible gaming laptop.

The hinge uses a rotating, easel-like design that lets you lay it completely flat on the keyboard. Alternatively, it seems like you’ll be able to use it in a tent mode of sorts as well.

I’m not sure that many people who own gaming laptops have actually wished for a convertible design, but Acer’s approach is pretty cool to look at nonetheless. The touchscreen display also boasts a crisp 4K resolution and NVIDIA G-Sync.

The Triton 900 wasn’t part of Acer’s official announcement, so there aren’t many concrete details on the laptop yet. That said, it will reportedly feature an RGB mechanical keyboard and the latest fourth-generation AeroBlade 3D fans, which are designed to increase airflow and minimize noise.

The fan blades have serrated edges at their tips, which supposedly helps air pass through while reducing turbulence.

The notebook is slated to come with the latest NVIDIA laptop graphics, according to Engadget, so it seems like there won’t be an official announcement until NVIDIA’s RTX 20-series graphics cards are ready for notebooks.
