Finally announced – the A9 firmware update that enables Eye-AF for animals

It’s been coming for a while, but Sony has finally released firmware update version 6.00. This brings you AI-driven Real-Time Eye AF technology that works with both animal and human subjects. Select either Animal or Human Eye AF mode depending on the situation, and let the A9’s AF system do the work for you. With the update, time-lapse videos can also be created through the Interval Shooting function.

The update also improves the overall stability of the camera and makes it more user-friendly, so you can now choose the colour of the Focus Frame, so you can choose between red, grey or green. The update also allows you to use the camera with Sony’s wireless remote commander RMT-P1BT.

Grab the firmware update now on the Sony Support site.
