Flickr has just posted its 2016 report and smartphones are once again the most popular photo-taking device.

In 2016, smartphones accounted for 48% of all photos uploaded. This compares to 39% in 2015.

On the other hand, the share of photos from DSLRs shrank from 31% to 25%. Point and shoot cameras also fell from 25% to 21%. Mirrorless cameras held steady at 3%.

Flickr also reported that out of the top 10 devices, 8 of them were iPhones. The top three positions went to the iPhone 6, iPhone 5s and iPhone 6s. This is unsurprisingly since the iPhones have consistently been amongst the best camera phones.

The only two non-iPhone devices to make the list were Canon's 5D Mark III and 5D Mark II.

In terms of brands, Apple leads the way with 47%, with Canon and Nikon a distant second and third with 24% and 18% respectively.
