Google and ASUS might be replacing the 16GB Nexus 7 with a 32GB model soon.

According to Phandroid, an anonymous source working for a hardware reseller took a screenshot of a listing that labelled the 16GB Nexus 7 as "EOL". For those who are not familiar with the term, "EOL" refers to the end-of-life for a product.

It is quite puzzling that Google and ASUS would phase out the 16GB less than half a year after its introduction. It is more likely that the 32GB model would be introduced as a new member of the Nexus tablet family.

Google is also rumored to be planning for a US$99 tablet to be released in time for Christmas. It is said to be thinner and will sport TN display panels from Taiwan-based manufacturer HannStar Display.
