2020 iPhone lineup rumored to use Qualcomm's in-display fingerprint sensor

Apple may use in-display Touch ID for the 2020 iPhone lineup.

Apple could be sourcing in-display ultrasonic fingerprint sensors from Qualcomm for the 2020 iPhone lineup.

Economic Daily News claimed an Apple representative has arranged to meet with Taiwanese manufacturer GIS next week to discuss about the fingerprint sensor for use as early as next year. GIS is believed to be working with Qualcomm to supply the fingerprint sensor components for at least one iPhone model.

The latest report lines up with what we've heard so far; Bloomberg shared in September that Apple is developing in-screen fingerprint sensing technology for the 2020 iPhone lineup and it reportedly allows the user to scan his/her fingerprint on a large portion of the display. The in-display ultrasonic fingerprint sensor will work in tandem with Face ID.
