Apple Pencil support and a bigger storage option could be coming to the 2018 iPhone lineup.

According to TrendForce, the 2018 iPhone lineup will support Apple Pencil although the limited real screen estate may limit its functionality to just taking notes and making annotations. Apple Pencil support could be limited to the 6.5-inch iPhone model. In addition, Apple is said to be introducing a 512GB storage option for the two OLED iPhone models. This brings the storage options to three including the existing 64GB and 256GB tiers.

The concept of an iPhone supporting stylus input is not new; The Investor reported last year that Apple engineers were working on a new iPhone model which will come with a stylus. Former KGI Securities analyst Ming-Chi Kuo claimed in March that the iPhone could eventually support the Apple Pencil. A new version of the Apple Pencil is reportedly in the works based on Bloomberg’s sources.

TrendForce also shares its price estimates for the 2018 iPhone lineup; it pegs the 6.1-inch model to have a base price of US$699 while the OLED models start from a price range of US$899 to US$949. The increased storage option and Apple Pencil may help boost the appeal of the 2018 iPhone lineup and increase the average selling price.
