2011 Top Gadget-Related Searches in US
Yes, the Google's Zeitgeist website for the year is now up. How about the top gadget-related queries for the year? For that, Google has given TechCrunch some crucial information that haven’t been published yet about the top ten searches in these three categories: the top gadgets, the top consumer electronics, and the fastest rising consumer electronics (TechCrunch was informed by Google that they have defined 'gadgets' as a subset of CE, with the former comprising of portable devices). While these lists apply only to the US, they do give a good glimpse at the tech trends that have been plaguing consumers in 2011:
TechCrunch - Apple has a commanding lead on the Top Gadgets list, holding four of the top ten spots, including the iPod at #1. But there’s one striking omission: the iPhone doesn’t appear among the Top Gadgets at all. Amazon’s Kindle (and Kindle Fire), the Otterbox, Nook, Zune, and even the defunct Palm all bested it.
