Panasonic's VT30S appears to have it all. Besides 3D, this 50-inch PDP touts a revitalized NeoPlasma panel with brighter and faster phosphors, while electrical pre-discharge is minimized to enhance black gradation. This ought to translate to enhanced black levels, but we'll leave it to our tests to determine if this is true grit from Panasonic or pure marketing hoopla.

Panasonic's silver and black design has our vote from most of us here at HardwareZone. The IPS Alpha panel also offers improved contrast levels. However, its glossy treatment can be a bane under brighter lighting conditions.

Perhaps Panasonic is bowing down to peer pressure, but it's nice to know an LED-backlit model is finally on the cards for the Japanese CE giant. The D25S isn't a sloppy effort though, since Panasonic has crammed lots of goodies into the new D-series such as an IPS panel and VIERA Cast.

The VIERA P50VT20S has come a long way baby. Finally cut down to a more consumer-friendly size of 50 inches, Panasonic's earlier stab at 3D panels actually involved a 103-inch mammoth PDP back in 2008.
