Black Friday has traditionally been the Friday after Thanksgiving. During that day, shops heavily discount their goods, leading to frenzied shopping sprees. While it's traditionally just a single day event, retailers now are expanding it to be a month long.

LCD TV makers have reduced production output due to weakening consumer demands. However, sales prospects are expected to improve towards the end of the year due in part to the holiday season.
