Apple has just released Java for OS X Lion 2012–003 and Java for Mac OS X 10.6 Update 8. Available for Mac OS X 10.7.3 Lion and 10.6.8 Snow Leopard, they remove the most common variants of the Flashback malware, and supersede all previous versions of Java for OS X Lion and Java for Mac OS X 10.6.

Google has responded to Oracle's Java lawsuit against its Android operating system, calling it 'baseless' and vowing to contest it in courts.
