Apple Accuses Samsung Galaxy S4 & Google Now for Infringing Patents for Siri
In its ongoing legal battles with Samsung, Apple is adding five new patents to its claim. The patents specifically targets Samsung's new S4 and the Google Now service for Android.
Android has Largest Smart Device Market Share
According a Q1, 2013 report by Canalys, 59.5 percent of all smart devices in the market -- 308.7 million smartphones, tablets and notebooks -- were running Google's Android operating system. Apple was in second place with a 19.3 percent market share and Microsoft had a market share of 18.1, just slightly behind Apple.
Apple Regains 5th Place in Chinese Mobile Market
In the first quarter of 2013, Apple managed to regain fifth place in the Chinese mobile market with an eight percent market share. For the last two quarters in 2012, it was languishing in 6th place, while Samsung remained firmly in the top spot with a 20 percent market share.
