It’s Apple newest true wireless headphone and also Beats’ first. It was announced in early April and it was supposed to be available here in May. But, for reasons unknown (some speculated it was overwhelming demand), it was delayed. Well, it’s finally here now.
Yes, they are. Like the second-generation AirPods, the Powerbeats Pro is powered by Apple’s new H1 chip. This means it has all the benefits of the H1 chip like:
Unlike other true wireless headphones. Both pieces of the Powerbeats Pro have the same controls because each maintains an independent connection to the source device. There’s a single main button, that, depending on how you press it, can be used for taking and canceling calls, and playing, pausing, and skipping tracks. And then there are volume control buttons.
Yes, you can. Because each Powerbeats Pro is capable of connecting independently to the source device, you can choose to only use one and listen in one ear and leave the other in the charging case. Some people might want to do that so that they can be more aware of their surroundings.
Thanks to the ear hooks and the in-ear design, the Powerbeats Pro will fit snugly unless your ears look like Legolas’. Apple also provides three additional ear-tips to help you get a really snug fit. It’s important that they fit well because a poor fit compromises its sound.
Unfortunately, fit and comfort will be a little compromised if you wear spectacles. There’s no getting around this since the ear hooks go over your ears just like your spectacles do. For what it’s worth, I’m bespectacled but I found the Powerbeats Pro to be secure and comfortable enough once they are properly adjusted. Your mileage may vary, of course.
Yes, it does. The unit we have is black but the Powerbeats Pro is also available in ivory (beige), moss (dark green), and navy (dark blue).
