In Crysis, we hardly saw any difference between the higher clocked Palit Radeon HD 4870 Sonic and the standard HD 4870, especially when the Palit is in its less powerful Sonic mode. Even so, it managed to keep up with NVIDIA's GTX 260, only losing out at the more demanding high resolution 4x anti-aliasing run, where the GTX 260's extra 384MB of RAM gave it the edge.

In Unreal Tournament 3, the Palit Radeon HD 4870 Sonic Dual Edition was surprisingly lackluster in Sonic mode, trailing most of the time against the standard HD 4870, albeit slightly. It pulled ahead only in Turbo mode, but even then, it still found itself behind the PowerColor PCS+ HD 4870.

Against the NVIDIA GTX 260, it lost out at the lower 1280 x 1024 and 1600 x 1200 resolutions, but surprisingly, it pulled ahead at the more demanding 1920 x 1440 resolution.
