If you thought that 3DMark05 was tough on your system, wait till you start 3DMark06, the latest version from FutureMark. Bringing even our top of the line graphics cards to a juddering halt at times, this benchmark has included a whole set of High Dynamic Range rendering tests, the better to tax your system. The modern high-end card such as the Radeon X1900 series performed better than NVIDIA's GeForce 7800 cards here, with the MSI and Sapphire Radeon X1900 XTX only a couple of points off from each other. However, clearly you would have to go ATI if topping 3DMark06 is your new resolution for the year. ATI's Radeon X1900 series clearly has a lot of shader crunching power and that's just what FutureMark's latest 3DMark series capitalizes on, hence the 'skewed' scores.
