Overclocking

The MSI RX1900GT-VT2D256E managed to reach 620MHz for its core and 1440MHz for the memory in our overclocking segment. On paper, that's a 40MHz DDR clock speed advantage over the GeCube. In reality, there's virtually no difference between the two cards when overclocked, showing that these two Radeon X1900 GT cards are really peas in a pod in every aspect. Finally, the mild bit of overclocking (~5%) had limited impact on the overall performance and both Radeon X1900 GTs were still light years from the level of a Radeon X1900 XT. Given the high operating temperatures of the card, you might be better off not overclocking it, or opt for an aftermarket cooler to do your bidding. If you thought the latter route would void the warranty, think again as even basic overclocking would void your warranty.
