Overclocking

We have all seen the MSI NX7900GT-T2D256E at maximum D.O.T and it was a sizable boost over the default. The MSI card was still not finished yet and our own overclocking showed that it was capable of overclocking up to 550MHz for the core and 1756MHz DDR for the memory. The memory clock in particular, far exceeded the 1520MHz managed by the ASUS, though its impact was probably not as great as a higher core clock. Hence, despite the impressive memory numbers, the MSI card was only a slight 2 – 3% faster than the ASUS in 3DMark05. Translated into an actual gaming session, we doubt that it would make any difference in any but the most intensive resolutions and settings.
