The first benchmark, 3DMark05 showed the MSI card in close proximity with the ATI Radeon X1600 PRO. If you remember the architecture of the Radeon X1000 series and the specific pipeline/shader configuration of the Radeon X1600 in particular, this result was expected. The asymmetric Radeon X1600 series has an advantage in this benchmark over similar NVIDIA cards generally, so not surprisingly, the MSI NX7600GS-T2D256EH found itself well matched by the X1600 PRO.

What is interesting is that the GeForce 6600 GT lagged behind the newer 7600 GS at all resolutions. This margin could range from a solid 13% to a whopping 39%. The margin was equally convincing between the MSI NX7600GS-T2D256EH and the GeForce 6800 GS so the new card seems likely to eclipse the GeForce 6600 GT.
