In Company of Heroes, the 256MB GeForce 8800 GT, while still a fair distance behind the 512MB version, at least manages to pip the Radeon HD 3870 to second place. However, this lead is not entirely convincing once we step into those high resolutions that are usually advertised as HD gaming by ATI and NVIDIA. Of course, if you have only a modest display then this is less of a concern.

The other benchmark here is F.E.A.R, which is not exactly a new game anymore and this can be seen from how the cards performed here, with the Leadtek approaching 30 frames at 1920 x 1440 with anti-aliasing enabled. Surprisingly, the ATI cards faltered here when anti-aliasing was enabled while the Leadtek was only a couple of frames slower than the 512MB version. If this older game is any accurate indication, then the 256MB variant is sufficient for this caliber of games.
