Test Setup

An Intel Pentium 4 3.2GHz Extreme Edition CPU along with an Intel D925XCV motherboard is the foundation on which the Extreme edition of the Leadtek WinFast PX6600 GT TDH was put to the test. 1GB of DDR-533 Micron memory running in dual channel mode and a 80GB SATA hard drive from Seagate completes the hardware specs of our graphics test-bed.

The operating system used was Microsoft's Windows XP Professional with Service Pack 2 and DirectX 9.0C. NVIDIA's ForceWare 66.81 was used. In case you have forgotten, the Leadtek WinFast PX6600 GT Extreme is clocked higher than the standard design, at 550/1120MHz compared to 500/1000MHz. Just a note: the rest of the cards that we compared the Leadtek with, (from ASUS, Gigabyte, MSI and NVIDIA), were all 'normal' cards that ran at the default operating frequencies and hence should perform slower than the Leadtek.

The following benchmarks were tested:

  • Futuremark 3DMark03 (ver. 340)
  • Futuremark 3DMark05 (ver. 120)
  • Unreal Tournament 2004 Demo
  • GunMetal Demo
  • FarCry 1.1
  • Doom 3
