3DMark05 is an example of the older generation of games that aren't optimized to handle quad-core processing. As the scores indicate, there is little difference between the QX6700 and the Core 2 Duos even though the QX6700 does outperform the E6700 slightly.

3DMark06's CPU test however is highly-threaded and was able take advantage of all the four cores on the QX6700, resulting in a phenomenal 60% performance increase over the X6800. However, this is a gaming benchmark and when we look at the big picture, graphics performance is the key. When the overall performance is taken into account, the QX6700's raw processing performance gives it a 5% advantage over a similarly configured X6800.
