Instead of the ASUS A8N-SLI Deluxe motherboard that we have been using in our test system, we used one from Gigabyte. This was the primary reason why the Gigabyte graphics card turned in slightly lower results for the benchmarks. Despite the fact that the Gigabyte motherboard was based on the same chipset, its stock performance was a step behind its ASUS counterpart. Hence, in our results for 3DMark05, the Gigabyte was marginally slower than the ASUS EAX1800XT TOP, although both cards had the same clock speeds. Nevertheless, the overclocked Gigabyte GV-RX18T512V-B Turbo easily beat the other normal Radeon X1800 XT cards running at the default frequencies.
