Overclocking

The Gainward Bliss 7300GT PCX was much faster than we expected from a card bearing the GeForce 7300 tag but can it go even further? We set out to overclock this passively cooled card and were slightly disappointed that there wasn't much overclocking tolerance left. The Gainward ended up doing 565MHz for the core and 1420MHz DDR for the memory, which is a minor improvement. The benchmark numbers reflect that too, with an increase of around 4% over the default. While that means that the Gainward finally overtook the Radeon X1600 XT in 3DMark06, the popular mid-range NVIDIA GeForce 7600 GT is still much too fast for the GeForce 7300 GT. Still, given the variety of real-life games tested, an overclocked Gainward Bliss 7300GT PCX is bound to be even better than its already good showing. However, it being a passive card, we would advise against overclocking for better longevity of the product, despite its cool operation.
