In Splinter Cell 3, we saw a rather interesting performance curve, one that we haven't come across in a long while. Using the Shader Model 3.0 profile with High Dynamic Range lighting scheme, it seems that the GeForce 7900 GTX outran the Radeon X1900 XTX at low resolutions, but the tables got switched when the resolution was cranked up to 1600x1200. If you can afford graphics cards that bare price tags as much as it costs to obtain entire systems, we are sure enough that you won't be running at low resolutions. Hence the Radeon X1900 XTX is the better performer in this game test. Again note that the lead isn't by a large degree.
