Temperature Testing

We got to admit that we were a little skeptical of the operating temperatures of the GeForce 7600 GT given its extreme clock speeds and a small cooler. Putting our temperature probes to good use, it took care of all our concerns as we found the ASUS EN7600GT operating at a comfortable region. Albeit a tad warmer than the old GeForce 6600 GT, it still ranks lower than the Radeon X1600 XT.

After a good long spell of quiet NVIDIA graphics cards, it was unfortunate that we found the operational noise rather disturbing on the ASUS EN7600GT and perhaps GeForce 7600 GT graphics cards in general (since many use the exact same cooler). Working away in the Windows environment will not pose any noise issues, but once you enter a 3D game and the fan revs up to compensate for the more strenuous workload, that is when you can distinctly hear it. For a graphics card that bared almost all the right traits to fill in the shoes of the new age 'GeForce 6600 GT', this comes as quite an unfortunate blemish.
