Performance Benchmarking

Performance results have never been a strong point as Atom based computers go, and the Eee Top is no different. Furthermore, the ET1602 model doesn't have the discrete graphics that's found on the ET1603 model, so 3D performance is a moot point for this unit. Instead of pairing the Eee Top up against standard netbooks, we've paired it against a similar nettop from ASUS, the Eee Box B202 which shares exactly the same specs.

Results from our PCMark05 test led to a very simple conclusion: that is, this is no powerhouse system. What you'll get is a functional desktop PC that's suitable for watching videos, productivity, flash games and the other gamut of stuff you can do with a netbook. While its scores compared favorably against the Eee Box, they are pretty much in line with a typical netbook. Just don't expect to be doing any video encoding or 3D gaming.
