Test Setup
Since we now have a ready pool of RD480 motherboards to base our comparisons on, we will be able to see just where the ASUS A8R-MVP stands in terms of value in the mainstream performance segment. Just as we had benchmarked the ECS KA1 MVP and MSI RD480 Neo2, we will be putting the A8R-MVP through the same tests and system setup. The test bed configurations are listed below. Most of the hardware used is identical except for a minor incompatibility with the reference board required swapping to another pair of memory.
