Watch This: Amazon Wants to Use Drones To Deliver Your Stuff
Amazon CEO, Jeff Bezos, recently said on 60 Minutes that his company is planning on using drones to deliver packages to customers' homes.
As part of Amazon's new program called "Amazon Prime Air", the company would use octocopters to delivery goods weighing up to five pounds (2.2kg) to customers within a 10 mile (16km) radius from the fulfillment center. The aim to get orders to customers in under half an hour.
All that is left now is for Amazon to work out regulations with authorities and also figure out how, and we quote, they can "prevent your packages from being dropped on your head from above".
Bezos admits that there is still work to be done, but was optimistic and adamant that it is only a matter of when, and not if, this will happen. He said:
"It will work, and it will happen, and it's going to be a lot of fun."
