Sony Teases 6.44-Inch Xperia ZU on its Press Invite

The battle for the biggest display on a smartphone is not going to end anytime soon as Sony is teasing an upcoming phone with a very big display.

According to Xperia Blog, the device shows up on a Sony Mobile press invite in France which is taking place on 4th July at 9.30 am. The words on the invite (after translation) reads, "Sony Mobile reserves a big surprise for you." Some of the text on the invite is written by a stylus, which suggests that the device is highly likely to come with one.

As for the device itself, we can see an ultra thin chassis with the signature metallic Power button found on recent Sony's mobile devices. A 3.5mm audio output jack sits on the top while a dedicated camera button is located at the bottom.

Rumored to be called Xperia ZU, the device is said to sport a 6.44-inch Full-HD “Triluminos with X-Reality for Mobile” display, Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 quad-core 2.2GHz processor, 2GB RAM, 16GB internal storage, a microSD memory card slot, an 8-megapixel rear and 2.2-megapixel front-facing cameras.

What's even more impressive is that it is alleged to be just 6.5mm thin. It seems that the Sony Xperia ZU is not water resistant as the 3.5mm audio output jack is left exposed. It is also not going to light as it allegedly weighs 212g.
