Samsung Reveals World's First Curved Monitor

At CES this week, Samsung threw another curved ball at techies with the introduction of the world's first curved screen monitor. Curved monitors may not be that useful if you're just balancing your accounts on your Excel spreadsheet but it's a whole different ball game when you're using them for games. It may not be obvious at first, but curved screens do make a pretty immersive experience if you're into multi-display setups. Placing three curved screens and forming them into an arc may just be what you'll need to fill your peripheral vision with everything else that can give you the added advantage against your opponents.

Samsung revealed the world's first curved full HD LCD monitor at CES today.

If you're a gamer, you'll need at least 3 to give you that immersive experience. Not that you can't achieve this with flat screen monitors, but you'll get a more seamless curve with this.

From what we know, the curved screen monitor measures 27-inches diagonally across and it comes with two HDMI ports and a DisplayPort. It displays at full HD (1080p) resolution and it has a decent 5ms response time.

Unfortunately, no other details were revealed and it's not known when Samsung will release this to the market. But based on the prices of curved screen TVs, you can expect these to come with a hefty price tag. And it doesn't help if you're a gamer that will settle nothing less than a minimum of 3 displays. For now, we'll just admire these and wait for LG to respond with a similar screen.
