Samsung Launches Galaxy S5 in Singapore, Available for Walk-In Customers Tomorrow
Samsung today launched the Galaxy S5 in Singapore for pre-registered customers from the three telcos and its Experience Stores. Customers started to queue outside the shops as early as 6AM this morning.
SingTel had its collection booths located at Marina Bay Sands (MBS) for customers who have successfully registered and booked their preferred time slots. Even though collection only begun at 11AM, Mr Rozario Edgar Malbrea, age 42, was the first in line at MBS. By 11AM, there was an estimated number of 100 people at the collection booths.
StarHub took a different strategy from SingTel; it allowed customers to collect the Galaxy S5 across its 14 StarHub Shops. Registered customers were given specific timeslots and shop locations to avoid overcrowding at any one shop and for the comfort of the customers.
Mr Kalyan, 35, was the first in line at the StarHub Shop in Plaza Singapura. Beside getting the Galaxy S5, he also signed up for a StarHub fibre broadband plan.
Customers who have collected their devices today received a Limited Edition Accessory Pack consisting of an extra battery kit and an HDTV adapter. They also enjoyed $50 off the retail prices of the Samsung Gear 2 and Gear 2 Neo, as well as 20% off the retail prices of the S View Cover and Flip Wallet with purchase.
The Galaxy S5 is available for walk-in customers from tomorrow at all telcos and Samsung Experience Stores. Do check out our review of the Galaxy S5 if you want to know more about the smartphone.
