MyRepublic has just announced that it will begin offering 1Gbps fiber broadband services today, with prices beginning from S$49.99 for the "Ultra" plan. Gamers who demand better connections can opt for the "Gamer: Ultra Edition" plan for S$59.99. These new plans will rival those offered in countries such as South Korea and Japan, long renowned for their blazing fast internet connections.
"When we talk about wanting to transform Singapore into a global leader in Internet connectivity, the tech-savvy always referred us to consumers in South Korea and Japan. These countries are well-known for having the best, most affordable Internet on the planet,” says MyRepublic CEO, Malcolm Rodrigues. “As of today, we are pioneering Singapore's entry into this top tier group of countries.”
Both plans offer the same 1000Mbps download and 500Mbps upload speeds with no throttling or blocking of BitTorrent connections and video streaming priority, but the "Gamer: Ultra Edition" goes one step further by prioritizing gaming connections and also offers custom routing to ensure lower latencies.
