LG Sound Plate is a Flattened Sound Bar You Can Put Your TV On

You may have heard of sound bars (a sound bar is a bar containing speakers that's to be mounted or place under a TV), but have you heard of soundplates? Well, now you have.

The LG Sound Plate 340 is a one-piece sound system enclosed in a big slab of metal, wide enough for TVs from 32 to 55 inches to sit on, but is only 35mm thick. It offers 4.1-channel and 120W of surround sound, uses a neodymium magnet, has dual built-in subwoofers, LG's Aero-duct for increased bass performance, and supports wireless audio streaming via Bluetooth. A single cable is all that's needed to connect the Sound Plate to the TV; if you've a compatible LG TV, it can go totally wireless using Sound Sync.

The Aero-duct is used to increase bass performance.

The SoundPlate's supplied remote control; notice on the remote, LG still calls it a soundbar.
