The second generation HTC Butterfly device, known as the HTC Butterfly S, makes an appearance on the IDA Equipment Search List. According to the equipment description, the device will come with 4G LTE connectivity.
HTC's Chief Marketing Officer Ben Ho said in March that the company "will launch a successor to the device under the same Butterfly brand name." Images of the device were leaked yesterday, showing a 5-inch display and new front-facing stereo speakers like the HTC One. It will come with Sense 5 as the device is seen with BlinkFeed on its home screen.
The HTC Butterfly is the first smartphone to sport a 5-inch Full-HD display. It impressed us with the stunning 5-inch Super LCD 3 display, solid build quality and a new design. However, the device lacks 4G LTE support which is a sore point since most of its competitors are 4G-enabled. The HTC Butterfly S is expected to be launched in Taiwan next week.
