GEAK to Release Android Smarwatch
Watches sporting bluetooth are popping up everywhere but how about one that runs Android? GEAK, a subsidiary of online games giant Shanda, intends to release such a watch. The Shanghai-based company has revealed that the GEAK watch will be packing a 802.11b/g/n WiFi module that allows the Android 4.1 system to receive over-the-air updates, while also squeezing in Bluetooth 4.0, NFC, GPS and FM radio.
That's not all though; it appears the watch is capable of monitoring the user's sleeping pattern, pulse, blood pressure, body temperature, mood and even functions as a pedometer. Other specifications include 512MB of RAM, 4GB of storage space and a 1.55-inch display that supports multi-touch. This nifty little gadget will be up for pre-order from 3rd July for US$330, though it still remains to be seen if it will be capable of doing everything it claims to be able to.
