Aftershock Unveils Refreshed Gaming Notebooks with NVIDIA 800M GPUs

Aftershock has unveiled refreshed versions of its X and XG gaming notebooks, now utilizing NVIDIA GeForce GTX 800M series GPUs. In addition, a number of other software and hardware upgrades have also been included.

The new 15.6-inch X15S-V2 and 17.3-inch X17S-V2 now features a spectrum multi-color backlit keyboard. Both models can be configured with either an NVIDIA GeForce GTX 870M or 880M GPU. Aftershock claims that the new X Series V2 notebooks will deliver a performance gain of up to 30% from its previous generation notebooks. The X Series notebooks have a starting price of S$2,131.

The new generation XG Series notebooks will all utilize NVIDIA's GeForce GTX 860M GPU. The XG series is available in three display sizes: the 13.3-inch XG13-V2 (the successor to our 2014 Tech Awards Editor's Choice for Best Portable Gaming Notebook), the 15.6-inch XG15-V3 (confusingly, this is actually version three of the XG15), and the 17.3-inch XG17-V2.

In addition to the GPU refresh, the XG13-V2 can also be configured with a QHD Ultra-HD display, while all systems will also come with a new on-board amplifier that boosts audio fidelity for external audio devices, an upgraded 2MP FHD web camera, and a new software interface that lets users control fan speed as well as disable the windows key during gaming. The XG series starts at S$1,434 for the base model XG15-V3.
