Toshiba has announced that its 11.6-inch Portege Z10t hybrid business Ultrabook (with Windows 8 Pro) will be making its debut at the upcoming PC Show, held at Singapore Expo Hall 5 & 6. The Toshiba Portege Z10t retail price will start at $1999 for the base configuration.
It’s one of the few hybrid business Ultrabooks in the market that has advanced security and data management features that lets it fit into a corporate environment well. It has a Trusted Platform Module (TPM) for enhanced security and and Intel vPro technology that lets IT departments monitor and maintain the Z10t remotely.
The Portege Z10t hybrid business Ultrabook also has its components built into its display, which once removed from its bundled keyboard dock, becomes a powerful Windows 8 tablet with Ultrabook-like specifications, a major convenience for users who need to travel light sometimes.
With its Ultrabook specifications and bundled keyboard dock, users are also able to get some serious work done when the need arises. When combined, the Z10t has the familiar clamshell form-factor which most users are accustomed to.
The keyboard dock has backlit keys, and has an extra USB 2.0 port for your peripherals, while the rest of the ports (USB 3.0 and HDMI) are found on the right side of the display (tablet), so that the ports won't be covered up when the machine is in notebook form.
Like the recently launched Microsoft Surface Pro, the Z10t has handwriting capabilities. The digital pen is an optional accessory but it allows for more precise input needed for drawing and handwritten notes on its 11.6-inch, 1920 x 1080 pixels resolution display.
The Toshiba Portege Z10t comes with a 1 or 3 year international limited warranty (parts and labor). For users who need more comprehensive coverage, they can always expand on their service plans with Toshiba’s SelectServ Program.
